H&M join hands with Lavin to create the most influential brand in the 21st century
H&M is thrilled to reveal its latest collaboration with Lanvin, one of the most iconic and influential fashion houses of the 21st century. This exclusive collection, designed by Lanvin’s artistic director Alber Elbaz and his menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver, will be available for purchase starting November 23, 2010, in H&M’s global network of around 200 selected stores. The range includes both Men’s and Women’s fashion, offering a unique blend of luxury and accessibility.
The first public showcase of the collection will take place on November 2, and within three weeks, it will be available at H&M stores worldwide. With this partnership, the Lanvin for H&M series is set to become one of the most anticipated fashion events of the year.
Alber Elbaz, Lanvin’s artistic director, shared his excitement: “H&M and we have been discussing this collaboration to bring the legacy of Lanvin to a broader audience. I once said I would never design something like a Volkswagen, but I’m happy that H&M is helping us elevate our brand rather than the other way around. This idea really intrigued me. While our companies are different, we share a common vision of bringing beauty and joy to people through fashion.â€
Margaretavanden Bosch, H&M’s creative director, added: “Lanvin’s exclusive collection for H&M is truly exciting. It’s a moment we’ve been looking forward to. Lanvin will bring its signature French elegance—traditional, modern, and timeless—to H&M. The collection features intricate tailoring and craftsmanship, with attention to every detail in both men’s and women’s wear. We can’t wait for the November launch, which promises to be full of surprises.â€
Alber Elbaz joined Lanvin in 2001 and has since transformed the brand into a leading force in innovation and style. Under his leadership, Lanvin has redefined modern fashion with elements like ribbons, bows, pearls, and bold colors, becoming a true fashion icon. His expertise in fabric and cut has made every piece instantly recognizable. In 2006, he launched a groundbreaking menswear collection that reimagined traditional male fashion, introducing a fresh, elegant, and relaxed style.
This marks Lanvin as H&M’s most prestigious collaborator to date. Previous designers who have worked with H&M include Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Comme des Garçons, and Sonia Rykiel. Unlike previous collaborations, the Lanvin for H&M series will be introduced through a short film premiering on November 2. Viewers can watch the film on www.hm.com, and three weeks later, customers worldwide will have the opportunity to shop the collection.
This partnership represents a bold step forward, combining high fashion with mass appeal, and proving that style and accessibility can coexist beautifully.
