According to the General Administration of Customs, China's exports of plastic products from January to November saw a significant year-on-year increase of 14.2%, reaching a total of 6,763,415 tons. Meanwhile, imports of primary-shaped plastics rose slightly by 0.2% during the same period, totaling 21.66 million tons.
These figures were released as preliminary data on December 10, highlighting the strong performance in the plastics sector. In November 2010 alone, China exported 654,276 tons of plastic products, contributing to the overall growth for the first 11 months of the year. The rise in exports reflects continued demand for Chinese-made plastics both domestically and internationally.
On the import side, primary-shaped plastics reached 2.14 million tons in November, with the annual cumulative figure standing at 21.66 million tons. Although the increase was modest at just 0.2%, it indicates a steady flow of raw materials into the country, supporting the domestic manufacturing industry.
Overall, the data suggests that China remains a key player in the global plastics market, with consistent growth in exports and stable import levels. This trend may be influenced by factors such as industrial demand, trade policies, and economic conditions in major trading partners. As the country continues to develop its manufacturing base, the plastics sector is expected to remain an important component of its export economy.
